I bought the Fates along with the Newton Distance shoes. The Fates are so comfortable and I wore them for a 7 mile run out of the box with no problems at all. They are rather minimalist (as Newtons are), SUPER light, and feel bouncy and fast. I had to go a 1/2 size up because my regular size felt a little tight in the toe box.

I was told to try Newtons from several different friends. I've been, and always will love, Saucony Kinvara, but needed something with a tad bit more cushion and support for mid to long distance running. I transitioned easily into these over a weeks' time. My calves were never tired! My feet don't hurt at all after my last 11 miler in these. These will be my sole mid to long distance training shoes for Boston! Lugs on the front are a bit stiff and take some getting used to, but so far so good!

I hope Newton makes them for a long time to come and they add a rainbow of colors! <3

I've wanted to try Newtons for several years and really wanted to keep these. They are so comfortable, very light, easy to run in, and look fantastic BUT my legs ACHED the next day after an easy 30 minute run. Hurt, like after a marathon hurt. I debated for days about keeping these but my husband finally convinced me to return them after I couldn't decide what to do. If I had to think that hard to convince myself to keep them, then they weren't the shoes for me. I exchanged them for Saucony Zeolot ISO and love them so much I bought all 3 colors!

          By Older runner

          from Chi Town

Started with Lady Newtons three years ago and loved them. Have used Energy and now Fate. Really like the Fate except the toe area is a bit too wide for women like me who have skinny feet. The right shoe started to wear near the big toe area right away, which is disappointing but I kept them.

I have run in two previous versions of Newton and transitioned to this shoe with no problem. The fifth lug provides additional support and a very smooth roll off. I have been increasing my weekly mileage and this shoe has been responding great. Love the bright green color too :)

I bought this Newton Fate because when Newton upgraded their gravity it's just not the same. I've been using this for my half marathon training on January, March and April. I'm running 30 to 35 miles a week and more in the next few weeks. Fate has more support, more cushion and wider - I have wide feet! I'm glad that it's cheaper compare to Distance and Gravity. Please don't make any changes on this. No upgrade anytime soon! I love the pink color too!!!

I have been wearing the Newton Distance U for the past two years and have fallen in love with this brand. You must follow the guidelines for breaking these shoes in though or you will risk injury. It takes a few weeks to do this but it is worth the wait. After years of IT band issues and wearing stability shoes I am now wearing a neutral shoe and have had zero injuries for two years. Additionally, I was constantly getting a blister on the same toe. With my new, improved form this is no longer an issue. Not to mention my speed has improved. Since the shoe I was wearing was discontinued (why do they do that?) I searched for an everyday trainer and decided on the fate. It has more cushion than the distance and just feels good. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend this shoe.

I've been a Nike Pegasus supporter for 10 years until they raised the heal support and that gave me achilles pain! I decided to try the Fate. I'm so happy I did as I'm now a complete convert. Everything about this shoe is fabulous. I've just run the Nike Womens 1/2 marathon, San Francisco, in these and they didn't miss a beat and kept me going :o) I run on trails and they seem pretty good so long as it's not too steep and loose. Overall, highly recommend these shoes.

I am running 5-6 days a week and one or two of those days are long runs. After my two half marathons, I start right into my full marathon training. Awesome shoe, no break in period like the gravity. I have nothing bad to say about the shoe.

I bought these shoes to give Newtons another try after not liking my Boco ATs. I could tell these were different the moment I put them on. I know they say that you should increase mileage slowly when starting out with Newton shoes. I went against that and wore them for the first time during a marathon relay. I ran 2 back to back legs for 11 miles and my feet felt better than if I were wearing my "broken in" shoes.

They fit like my Brooks Pureflow in 8.5 with more room in the toe box. Definitely a great shoe!

First, let me say I'm a Brooks girl through and through. I typically run in the Brooks Launch or the original Pure Cadence. I won't lie and say that the color of these sneakers peeked my interest in them. And thank goodness for Road Runners Return Policy otherwise I never would have tried them. I had run once before in the original Newtons back in 2010 will little success. I ended up with sore calves and very cold toes, and possibly a stress reaction. That is when I found Brooks Launch soon after. BUT, I read the descriptions of the new Newtons and these seemed to fit my profile. I opted for an 8.5. I wear an 8.5 in the Launch, but a 9 in the Pure Cadence. And I followed instructions and just ran a mile in them on the first day. The second day, I went for 4 miles. Probably not smart, but they really felt right. Then, two days later, I ran 20 in them. They were amazing! And the next day I had no soreness whatsoever. I feel like they are helping my foot stike, too, as I am a heel striker by nature. I get more of a "push" with these Newtons with less effort. Seriously, I'm sold! The only drawback I found was the pink bled onto my socks. That tells me they could get a bit sweaty? Not sure, but I didn't get any blisters from them...although my toes were a bit more tender then they would be after running 20 in the Launch. Still, I could live with that. I want to try the Kismets next!

I am new to newtons and am very pleased. These shoes are wide without being too wide and have a semi curved last which is hard to find with such a wide forefoot. Plenty of cushion but lightweight makes them a great training shoe. I even have room for my orthotic. I feel they run pretty true to size - maybe a tad big but not sure it's an entire 1/2 size. I got my normal size and it seems perfect. The colors are fun too. Training for marathon #21.

I love Newton, however have not been as happy the gravity since the last version came out. Decided to give this a try. Wear them as a trainer and they are great. Nice ride and durable for the miles and they are way cheaper than the gravity

I began wearing Newtons 4 yrs ago with the Lady Isaac. I'm on my 8th pair. I've been wearing Distance for the last 3 years. I added a pair of Gravity 9 months ago since I was increasing mileage for an Ironman. Then came the announcement of Fate. (I passed on the Energy). I couldn't tell much by the description, but I liked the color so I pre-ordered. Trying them on they felt very much like Gravity in the fit. But running in them was more similar to Distance. Nice flexibility and road feel only with extra cushion. My only (minimal) complaint is that the violet dye bleeds when you are soaking sweaty. It did wash out of my socks though. Also, I find Fate to be perfectly comfortable without socks due to the welded seams keeping the inside nice and smooth on your skin. I run ~36 miles per week.
