PowerBar® PERFORMANCE BAR :: Before beginning any training session or competition, athletes need to be fully energized and hydrated. When both those needs are met, muscles are ready to work. About an hour before exercise, energize with a PowerBar® Performance bar, charged with PowerBar® C2 MAX optimized carbohydrate blend, a 2:1 blend of glucose and fructose carbohydrate sources. The bars are also an effective option on those days when training starts very early in the morning and eating a pre-workout meal just isn't realistic.

Like a wild bucking bronco, this item can't be tamed. It also can't be gift-wrapped. Sorry!

        I've been eating the vanilla crisp powerbars for the entirety of my adult life. Usually I would take them backpacking with me but when I started running seriously and training for a marathon in January I started using them as an easy source of carbs before my long runs.

        They're tasty, easy to consume, and provide me with the energy boost I need for those 10+ mile runs. One of the things I really like about them is that they don't upset my stomach during my runs like other products have. I fully believe that they way they dissolve when eaten has a big influence on this.

        Since incorporating the powerbar into my pre-workout routine I have found that I have to rely less on supplemental energy packs during long distances.

        Overall I would give these guys an A+.

          Taking one 30 minutes before half and full marathons have made a world of a difference. I also use them on long rides as they're compact and nutrient rich. Amazed they haven't upset my sensitive stomach yet. Tried them all but favourites are chocolate and cookies & cream b/c the flavours are most congruent with the texture of a Powerbar.

                I eat an oatmeal raisin PowerBar for lunch every day at school. I eat one before every marathon, and I've run 86. I've been eating the oatmeal raisin flavor since 1998 and never get tired of the flavor. I just love it and it gives me the nutrition and energy to teach kids all afternoon and to run marathons. The oatmeal raisin flavor is hard to find in St. Louis, Mo., so I buy it in quantity on-line so I never run out.

                    I use a Performance Powerbar before races and long runs. They help smooth out energy ups and downs during my runs. I ran a 16 mile trail run last week in blazing sun and 85 degree heat. The energy from the Powerbar kept me juiced for about half the run.

                    I try to eat one Powerbar about 1 hour before a run with a large glass of water. If you have a sensitive digestion this combination should make it easier to tolerate while running.

                              The first 4 or 5 tasted great and gave great energy. After 5, I could no longer stomach biting into these and switched to CliffBars (which never seem to get old due to the different flavors and textures). These are good here and there, but get old quick if used on a daily basis.

                              these bars are great to eat before a run. they are easily digestable. i love the vanilla, banana, and peanut butter ones. they dont upset your stomach like other energy bars do.
